When it comes to marketing your business, there is a lot to keep in mind. One of the most important things is your organization's brand. Your brand includes your name, logo, fonts, colors, slogan, and even the tone you use when discussing your business.

It can be a lot to keep track of and, at times, overwhelming for both new and established businesses. However, once organizations establish a strong, consistent, and memorable brand,  it becomes easier to attract new customers.

Here are a few key items to keep in mind when it comes to improving brand awareness.

1. Figure Out Where your Brand Currently Stands

The only way to improve your brand's awareness is to know where it currently stands. One great way to find out where your brand is at is by completing a SWOT analysis. A SWOT analysis consists of looking at your brand and finding your:

  • Strengths - what’s going well for your brand
  • Weaknesses - what could be improved upon
  • Opportunities - ways your brand could expand or new things you could try
  • Threats - possible competition from others in your market, or negative views of your brand

Looking into where you’re currently at will help you decide what you need to focus on to improve it in the future.

2. Be Consistent

One of the most important keys to increasing your brand awareness is consistency! Keeping everything that is tied to your brand consistent helps customers recognize your brand more easily and across different mediums. Consistent branding helps gain trust from customers and builds more loyalty towards it.

Keep consistency in mind when it comes to:

  • Your logo
  • Any fonts used on marketing materials
  • Any colors used on marketing materials
  • Your brand slogan, if you have one
  • Tone and language used when talking about your brand

These are important elements to keep in mind across all aspects of marketing for your business. Whether it’s your in-store signage, website, social media profiles, or traditional advertising like television or radio ads, consistency is key!

3. Stay True to Your Brand

Once you’ve figured out where your brand stands and how you want it to come across to your customers, stay true to it! For example, if you want customers to see your business as one that really values its customers and customer service, make sure you’re doing so. When customers have an experience with your business that matches up with how you brand it, it has a positive impact and makes them trust your brand more.
